Valentine's Day Card Making Spree

This week I made 4 cards.  For me that is a lot.  I am a member of a cardmaking group on YahooGroups and signed up for some swaps this month.  While they didn't all have to be a valentine theme, that is just the mood I was in so I went with it. 

This card was for my Valentine swap I signed up for.   I used the cricut cartridge Storybook for the scrolled heart and a swiss dots cuttlebug folder for the background.  I really like the way this one turned out.....the colors pop more in person.

This card was my take on a sketch the group owner put up for January.  The supplies were all from my stash and the stamp is from Penny Black.

I think this card turned out sweet.  This theme was use your cuttlebug, so I used the Birds and Swirls folder.  The birds are from the Create a Critter cricut cartridge.  I got the idea for this card from a sticker, I think it was from Bo Bunny.

The last card I created this week doesn't have a Valentine's theme so I will save it for another post...but I will tell you this.  It is totally owl-dorable. :)

Need some help with a title for this pic......

This is my kids playing with masks at Cracker Barrel.  I am trying to come up with a catchy title for a scrapbook layout.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Art Class.......

So, I work in a school cafeteria.  The art teacher offered to teach a painting class to some of us lunchladies after school.  This is the first class like this I have ever taken but had such a blast, I would love to do it again. 

The area around his face kind of reminds me of Ronald McDonald but overall I was proud of my artistic abilities.

Starting the year off right.......

Every year I have hopes to create more than I did the year before.  Last night I uploaded a bunch of pictures to be printed so I can work on my scrapbooks.  I ordered 236 prints from Walgreens and can't wait for them to get here.  In the meantime I have some birthdays coming up for family members so I made a card.  Gotta start somewhere, right?

Just a simple card that gets right to the point.

Happy New Year!!

I want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year!  My family spent New Years Eve at home.  My sister and her family came over and we played games, ate and hung out.   We played Trivial Pursuit 80's edition....that was a lot of fun....brought back some memories of my teenage years.   Then we played Scattergories.  I love this game...probably one of my favorites.  Some of the answers are pretty creative and have us all rolling. 

Anyway....one more time wishing you all a very happy 2013.

Grandparent's Day Cards

So September 9th was Grandparent's Day.  I usually have good intentions to not let this day slip by but most of the time fail on those intentions.  This year I actually remembered it.  I made a card for my grandmother, who I am still blessed to have on this earth and another one for my mom for my kids to send.

This card was for my Grandmother.  It is from a Penny Black stamp.  I used my spellbinders, some flowers from my stash, a fiskars butterfly punch and paper from Jillibean Soup.

This card was for my Mom and also has a Penny Black stamp.  The paper was from a Prima 6x6 pad called Doodle Deux.  I used a spellbinders scalloped oval, the same fiskers butterfly punch and some bling and ribbon from my stash.  I bought the ribbon on clearance at Joanns for a quarter.  I couldn't believe how well it matched the paper....almost like it was made for it.

Last Day of Summer Vacation

Today is my last day of summer....tomorrow is the start of another school year.  While it will be good to get my family back on a schedule I will still miss the lazy days of summer.  I am posting a pic we took on our vacation to North Carolina in June to visit some sweet friends.
